GOP Sen. Tim Scott will reportedly announce he is running for President three weeks from today – May 22 in his native South Carolina. Scott could be a formidable candidate if he can convince GOP voters to move away from both Trump and DeSantis to a fresh face. Scott is, no doubt, hoping he can win the South Carolina Primary – his home state – which comes early in the GOP Primary process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It’s still a longshot. President Trump is very popular in South Carolina, and you now have two South Carolina politicians – Scott and former Gov. Nikki Haley – who will split the hometown vote in the South Carolina Primary. I just don’t see either of them winning it. But you never know! It will be interesting to watch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scott, who had been teasing a White House bid <\/a>for months, launched an exploratory committee<\/a> for a 2024 presidential campaign last month. In a video announcing the exploratory committee, Scott said the nation is once again being tested as he took aim at President Joe Biden, who is seeking a second term in office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
